Claudio Miguel Pizarro Bosio is a Peruvian international football player who currently features for the English Premier League side Chelsea. He plays as a striker.
Claudio Pizarro commenced his football with the small provincial Peruvian club Deportivo Perquero when he was just 17 years of age in 1996. After one season he moved to Allianza Lima and then in 1999 made the bold move to Europe and to German club Werder Bremen. He scored 29 goals in 56 league matches for Bremen and was signed by German giants Bayern Munich in the summer of 2001.
Pizarro was a key player for the Bavarians in the first few years at Bayern, more so in 2003 when he was instrumental in leading Bayern to the German Bundesliga and German Cup double. He scored 70 goals in 174 Bundesliga matches for Bayern and left the club on a free transfer in the summer of 2007 when Bayern refused to hand him a new contract since he demanded for a hike in his wage.

Pizarro was signed by Chelsea in the summer of 2007 on a free transfer but he was unable to reproduce his old Bayern form at Stamford Bridge and could score only 2 goals in 21 Premier League matches.
Claudio Pizarro made his international debut for Peru in 1999 and has gone on to play more than 50 matches for the national side.
