Bruno Miguel Borges Fernandes is a football player playing for Manchester United. He joined the Red Devils in January 2020 from Sporting Lisbon and made a major impact on the back end of the 2019-20 Premier League season.
Career
Fernandes played most of his junior football in his native Portugal with Boavista, before moving to Italy to join Novara in 2012.
He impressed quickly at Novara, emerging in the first team in Serie B and was signed by Serie A club Udinese in 2013. He made almost 100 appearances for Udinese across three seasons before moving to Sampdoria in 2016.
In June 2017, he returned to Portugal where he signed with Sporting Lisbon for approximately 8.5 million euros where he enjoyed a fruitful period, winning the Primeira Liga Player of the Year in both 2017–18 and 2018–19 and graduating into the Portuguese national team, playing at the 2018 World Cup.
In January 2020, Manchester United signed Fernandes for a fee worth approximately 80 million euros. In his first six months in England, he won the Premier League Player of the Month twice.
