Roberto Luís Gaspar de Deus Severo, popularly known as Beto, is a Portuguese international footballer who currently features for the Spanish club Recreativo de Huelva. He plays as a defender.

Beto commenced his professional club football for Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon and made his first team debut in 1996 after spending the previous two seasons on loan to fellow Portuguese clubs. Beto made close to 250 league appearances for Sporting in his ten years for them and won the domestic title in 1999-2000 and 2001-2002. He also became the captain at Sporting.

In January 2006 he was sold to French side Bordeaux for for 1 million euro after falling out with the Sporting manager Paolo Bento. Beto was sent on loan to Spanish club Recreativo de Huelva in the summer of 2006 and at the end of the 2006-2007 season he was signed on a three-year contract.

Beto made his Portugal debut in a World Cup qualifier against Germany in Berlin in 1997 and was part of the Portuguese squad for Euro 2000, 2002 World Cup and Euro 2004.
