Mateo Kovacic is a teenage Croatian football player who currently features for the Italian and European giants Inter Milan. He plays as a midfielder and is rated as a very promising young player.
Kovacic developed at Dinamo Zagreb’s youth academy and was part of the first team between 2010 and 2013, scoring seven goals in 43 league appearances. He progressed with every passing year and helped his side win the title in 2010-11 and 2011-12 and the Croatian Cup in 2011 and 2012.
Kovacic won the Croatian Cup with Zagreb in 2011 and 2012 and was adjudged as the Croatian Football Hope of the Year in 2011.
On January 31, 2013 Inter signed Kovacic from Zagreb for €15 million. He was given the number 10 shirt that Wesley Sneijder used to wear before he moved to Galatasaray.
