Kevin De Bruyne is a young Belgium international football player who currently features for the German Bundesliga club Werder Bremen on loan from English and European giants Chelsea. He can play both as an attacking midfielder and a winger.
De Bruyne developed first at the youth academy of Gent and then Racing Genk in Belgium before making his first-team debut for the latter in a 3-0 defeat at Charleroi on May 9, 2009. He established himself in the first team for the 2009-10 season and won the Belgian Pro League with them in 2010-11.
De Bruyne was also part of Genk’s Belgiam Cup-winning side of 2008-09 and of the Belgian Supercup-winning team of 2011.
In January 2012 Chelsea signed De Bruyne from Genk for £7 million on a five-and-a-half year contract, with the youngster remaining at the Belgian club for the remainder of the 2011-12 season. In the summer of 2012, Chelsea him out to Bundesliga club Werder Bremen for the 2012-13 season.
De Bruyne made his international debut for Chelsea on August 11, 2010 against Finland in a friendly international that ended in 1-0 defeat for them.
