Ikechukwu Uche is a young Nigerian international football who currently features for the Spanish club Getafe. He is a striker with good dribbling skills and powerful shots. His name, Ikechukwu, means “Power of God”.
Ikechukwu Uche made his debut in professional football for Nigerian side Amanze United and then moved onto Iwuanyanwu Nationale. He played for Argentine club Racing Ferrol in 2001 and two seasons later joined Spanish side Recreativo de Huelva for 3 million dollars. He featured in 133 league matches for the Andalucian side from 2003 to 2007 and scored 49 goals. Uche was the top scorer of the Segunda División 2005/06.
In the summer of 2007, Uche was signed by Getafe and he was a regular for the then Michael Laudrup-coached side.
Uche made his international debut for Nigeria in 2007 and has played 9 matches for his nation so far.
