Leonardo Renan Simoes de Lacerda is a professional football player from Brazil who plays as a defender. A product of the Gremio youth academy, Leo, as he is popularly known, began playing for the senior team in 2007. Instantly, this 6’1” player became a hit with the team and started making regular starts. Between 2007 and 2009, Leo made 71 appearances for Gremio and even scored four goals in the period. At the end of 2009, and from the beginning of 2010, Leo moved to Palmeiras.
His Palmeiras adventure was extremely short and after just four games, Leo moved to Cruzeiro. The move came because Leo had a bad start to the season, earning two red cards in six games. That got him posted on the bench and he had no choice but to look for a different team where he would, once again, start making appearances on the pitch. At Cruzeiro, Leo has yet to make a league appearance for the club.
