A Brazilian goalkeeper who plays as a professional football player at the highest level, Vanderlei Farias da Silva began his playing career in 2004, at Londrina Esporte Clube. For two seasons, Vanderlei was part of the first team at Londrina and made an impressing on the coaching staff at Olimpia Futebol Clube, where he spent the whole of 2006.
In 2007, he moved to Clube Atletico Paranvai and helped the team win the 2007 Parana State Championship title. Then came the big move to Coritiba Futebol Clube where he became an integral part of the starting line-up. The team went on to win the 2008, 2010 and 2011 Parana State Championships as well as the 2007 and 2010 Brazilian Serie B title.
