Egidio de Araujo Pereira Junior is a professional football player from Brazil, who plays as a defender in the left-back position. From 2002 to 2005, Junior was a member of the youth team at Flamengo, where he won the Copa Cultura de Juniores title in 2005. During these years playing with the youth team, Junior had also made enough impact to play for the senior team at the same time.

Although he practiced mostly with the youth team, he would be called up, often, to represent the senior team as well. From 2003, Junior became an on-off fixture in the senior team and was a part of the line-up that won the Copa Record title in 2005, the Copa do Brasil title in 2006, The 2008 & 2011 Taca Guanabara titles as well as the 2009 & 2011 Taca Rio titles.

Although mostly playing on the bench, Junior would also help Flamengo win the 2008, 2009 and 2011Rio de Janeiro State League titles.

Although Junior is still under contract with Flamengo, he has been on several loan moves throughout his career. In 2007, he was loaned out to Parana Clube where he wouldn’t feature in a single game all year. The following season, he had a 14-game run with Juventude before moving onto Figueirense in 2009. His Figueirense move was good for his career as Junior got regular playing time and even scored four goals to boost his confidence.

In 2010, Junior was sent on loan to Esporte Clube Vitoria, where he played an influential role, over 30 games, to help the team win the 2010 Bahia State League title. In 2011, Junior moved to Ceara Sporting Club where he has, once again, established himself as an integral part of the first team.
