A promising young defender from Brazil, Avine Junior Cardoso is a professional footballer at the highest level of the game. Having graduated from the Esporte Clube Bahia’s youth academy, Avine began his professional career in 2006. Baring a one year loan spell, in 2009, to Santo Andre, Avine was always a part of the Bahia team.
Before the loan move, appearances were few and Avine went to Santo Andre in search of regular playing time. After just 10 games, Bahia called him back to replace injured first team players and, since then, Avine has never looked back. The player is a regular part of the first team at Bahia, playing over 50 games and scoring 5 times in the process.
At the international level, Avine was named to the Brazilian Under-17 national team in 2004-05 and played three games for the team. He hasn’t had the same luck at the senior level though.
