Piatti was signed by Almeria in the summer of 2008 and quickly established himself as one of the most promising young players in La Liga. His runs along the flanks and trickery earned him praise and adulation throughout and after scoring 20 goals in 101 La Liga, he joined Valencia, where he is now regarded as one of the most valuable members of the team.
Piatti was also a member of the Argentine side that won the 2007 World Youth championship in Canada and was the youngest player of the mix but was vital from the midfield in all the matches that he played. He made his debut for the senior side in 2011.
