Alvaro Morata is a young Spanish football player who currently features for the Spanish and European giants Real Madrid. He plays as a striker and is rated as one of the most promising young players in his position in Europe.
Morata developed at Madrid’s youth academy and was drafted into the B team in 2010. He made his debut for Castilla in a friendly match against Alcorcon on August 15, 2010 and played his first game for the first team on December 12, 2010 in a 3-1 away victory over Real Zaragoza in La Liga.
Morata played largely for the B team in 2010-11 season and in 2011-12, but played from time to time for the first team, with coach Jose Mourinho rating him highly. He was drafted into the first team by new coach Carlo Ancelotti for the 2013-14 campaign.
Morata won the 2011 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship in Romania with Spain.
