Fabio Pereira da Silva, commonly known simply as Fabio, is a Brazilian football player who currently features for English and European giants Manchester United. He is a full-back and is rated as one of the best young defenders in world football.
Fabio commenced his professional club football career at Brazilian giants Fluminense in 2005 and signed for Manchester United in February 2007. However, he had to wait until his 18th birthday in July 2008 to sign a professional contract with the English giants.
Fabio made his first appearance for United on August 4, 2008 when he replaced Patrice Evra in a pre-season friendly match against Peterborough United. He continued to impress for the club’s reserve team and made his debut for the senior side on January 24, 2009 against Tottenam Hotspur in a 2-1 victory in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Fabio made his Premier League debut for United on August 16, 2009 against Birmingham City at Old Trafford and played his first Champions League game for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side against CSKA Moscow on October 21.
Fabio continued to play his part in the United first team and in July 2012 he was sent on loan to Queens Park Rangers for the 2012-13 season. He returned to the Red Devils for the 2013-14 campaign.
Fabio made his international debut for Brazil on September 22, 2011 against Costa Rica.
