Nicolás Lodeiro> is a Uruguayan football player who plays for Ajax Amsterdam, a Dutch Eredivisie club. Many regard Nicolas as one of the finest players of the team produced in recent times. He is a born player having excellent technique, character, has instant thoughts and excels explosive skills in this field.

At the age of 12 Nicolas left Payasandu, his hometown to join Nacional team. Here, he won titles at U-17 and U-20 level after which he played in the Uruguayan Primera Division at the age of 18. In 2008, after getting experience in the Bolso line up, he made many appearances in the Copa Libertadores, showing his talent the following year. He contributed four goals for Nacional’s impressive run to the Libertadores semi final matches.

He made subsequent performances in Egypt convincing Oscar Tabarez to draft him to the Celeste Squad for the South Africa 2010 match. This match was against Costa Rica. Though he played little for the Ajax team, he had the skills to light up the Uruguay finals campaign.
