Stefan Kießling> is a German football player who presently plays for Bayer Leverkusen as a striker. Other teams that he plays for include Germany and Bayer Leverkusen. Since his arrival in 2006, he has played in more than 130 games for the club, scoring 50 goals. For the German national team, Stefan has represented six times.
His international debut was in 2007 in a friendly match against Denmark for the Germany national team. After playing for one season with this team, he was called against by Joachim Low after his excellent performance in 2009-10 season. Subsequently, he was picked in his fourth cap in a friendly match held against Malta in a 3-0 victory match. Known as one of the 23 players to have made up the Germany squad for the 2010 World Cup, Stefan came as a substitute in two of the matches, the knockout game with England and the third-fourth placing match against Uruguay team.
Though he has been one of the top marksmen for many seasons for German team, he has struggled for a breakthrough with three time world champions. Due to the superb performance in 2009-10 league campaign, he was chosen as the top scorer placing him in the squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
