Francisco José Maldonado Collante, simply known as Maldonado, is a Spanish footballer who features for the Spanish side Real Betis. He plays as an attacking midfielder.

Maldonado is a graduate of the Real Betis youth academy and played for the senior side from 2002 to 2004 in La Liga. He was then asked to play for the Real Betis B side in the Segunda Division in Spain for the 2003-2004 season and was loaned out to AD Cueta for the next season.

Lorca Deportiva signed Maldonado in the summer of 2005 and he scored 13 goals in 26 appearances for the club and earned a recall to Betis after the Andalucians paid Lorca 62,000 euros.
