Damia Abella Perez, simply known as Damia, is a Spanish footballer who currently features for the Spanish club Real Betis. He plays as a defender but is not a regular for Betis.
Damia made his professional debut for local club UE Figueres in 2003 and played 19 league matches for them in the 2003-2004 season. He was signed by Spanish and European giants FC Barcelona in the summer of 2004 and amde his debut for the Catalan giants against Athletic de Bilbao in October 2004.
However he could never thread his way to the first team and at the end of the season, after making just 9 first appearances in the league, he moved on to Racing Santander on a two year loan deal and impressed in his first season on loan.
Andalucian giants Real Betis signed Damia in the summer of 2006 for 1 million euro on a five-year contract but a hip injury prevented him from playing any match for Betis during the 2006-2007 season. He finally made his long awaited debut for Real Betis on September 2007 against Real Mallorca.
Great things are expected of him in the coming seasons at the Sanchez Ramon Pizjuan.
