Edgar Miliciades Benitez Santander, is a Paraguayan footballer, who began his career in 2005 with Libertad. Despite only featuring as a substitute, Benitez experienced his first title win immediately with the team nabbing the Paraguayan 1st division. He remained with the club till 2007, after which he moved to Sol de America. Benitez came into form with the club and scored 21 goals in 37 matches, becoming one of the top goalscorers for the team.

Benitez remained with the club for one season, after which he announced his move to Mexican Primera Division club, Pachuca CF, in 2009, where he currently plays as well. His debut match was against Tecos UAG, durng the Interliga 2009. The team won 4-0, and Benitez kept up his great form, becoming the top goalscorer of the tournament by scoring 4 goals in 4 games. Consequentyly, Pachuca gained a spot in the Copa Libertadores 2009.

But after 2009, Benitez has been unable to find a spot in the starting team, and has mostly played as a substitute for almost every match. He made numerous appearances for Bicentenario 2010, and the forward even managed to find a spot with the starting team, againt Jaguares de Chiapas. He scored twice in this game, which Pachuca ended 2-2.

After his great performance with Sol de America, Benitex was offered a spot in the Payaguayan Nationa Football Team, and made a good debut in his first 2010 World cup Qualification match against Peru, which they won 1-0. Some of his other honours include the CONCACAF Champions League in 2009-10, with Pachuca.So far Benitex has made nearly 13 appearances with the national football team, since 2008, scoring one goal.
