The league season runs from March to October and is played by 14 teams. These teams are divided into Eastern and Western Conferences with each group having seven teams.

Each team plays 30 games over 31 weeks, once at home and once away from home. Each team plays the others twice every season, once at home and once away from home. The last four matches are intra-conference ones.
