Giggs Confident Of Doing The Double

Manchester United might have lost 2-1 to Chelsea in the Premiership on Saturday but their veteran winger Ryan Giggs still believes that United can achieve the domestic and European double.

There is no point gap between Man United and Chelsea at the top of the leaderboard in the Premiership with Man United edging the London Blues on a superior goal difference. Two more rounds of matches remain in the Premiership this season and the Red Devils have the small matter of the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final against FC Barcelona to look forward to on Tuesday.

Giggs told the Press Association:

“We’ve got to lift ourselves as there is no bigger game.

“We want to win the league and we want to get in the Champions League final and we’ve got a chance to do that.

“We’ve got the players. We showed that, especially in the second half against Chelsea and we are looking forward to the game.”

But the subtle truth is that Man United have stumbled in the last few weeks and appear to have allowed the pressure and ecstatic expectations to get to them. But as they say, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
