Valencia would take on Osasuna in a relegation six-pointer this Sunday in La Liga as new coach Voro tries to conjure up a miracle and save Los Che from the drop into the Segunda Division. But the new Valencia boss would have to do without top striker Fernando Morientes.
Morientes was rushed to the hospital early on Tuesday after the 32-year old Spanish international striker complained of acute abdominal pain and a fever. The club’s medics though failed to identify the problem but did release a statement later on in which they said that Morientes was progressing well and shall be released from the hospital on Thursday or Friday.
Which implies that he would miss the match against Osauna on Sunday. Valencia are 16th in the table in La Liga, just 2 points above the dreaded relegation zone while their opponents Osasuna are 2 places and 1 point above them.
