According to latest reports emanating from England, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is contemplating to sell the club.
The Sunday Times has reported that the Russian billionare has been drumming about his club in the Middle East in a potential effort to lure prospective buyers.
Abramovich bought Chelsea in 2003 for around 60 million pounds and made them into an expensive force that won the Premier League titles in 2005 and 2006 and reached the final of the UEFA Champions League last season.
But the Blues have failed to find much success this season. Moreover, with the world reeling under the credit crunch crisis, the Russian’s liquid assets too have taken a dip towards the south and apparently he is keen on getting rid of Chelsea.
If indeed Roman Abramovich decides to sell Chelsea, then the club might have to shed a number of top draw players.
