Harry Kane matched Tottenham’s all-time goals record with the winner in Monday’s 1-0 victory at Fulham in the English Premier League.

The 29-year-old forward struck the winner from Son Heung-Min’s assist in the 45th minute, keeping Spurs in touch with the top four.

Kane’s goal took him to 266 for the club, equaling Jimmy Greaves’ Tottenham record.

That is a phenomenal achievement for Kane, who joined Spurs during his youth career, making his first-team debut in 2011, amid a flurry of loan spells to lower level clubs.

Kane eventually made a significant impact in the 2014-15 Premier League season, netting 21 goals and has not looked back since, with his lowest return being 17. He already has netted 16 times this term.

The star forward has remained loyal to Spurs despite opportunities to move to bigger clubs, with Tottenham unable to pick up any silverware during his time there, despite rnuners-up finishes in the EFL Cup and UEFA Champions League.

Spurs boss Antonio Conte said: “We are talking about a player that has a fantastic ability and good experience.

“For sure, I would like to help him and his teammates to do something important, to win something with Tottenham because he loves Tottenham in his heart.

“And it should be good if together we were able to win something. It’s important to have this record but it could be more important if he could have a trophy. We have to be dreamers.

Conte also revealed that Kane achieved the feat having come into Monday’s game with fever.

“He was not so good but he wanted to play because he understood the moment,” Conte said.

“He understood he is a point of reference for us. Today I am really happy because I think he was rewarded with a goal.”
