There’s injury concerns galore this weekend after a chaotic international break, while Harry Kane could be set for a return to form after finding his goal scoring touch and Mohamed Salah’s goalless run extended, leaving Fantasy coaches concerned.

New Options

Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster has found his way into 23% of teams and picked up big points last round with his penalty save in his side’s 1-0 loss to Arsenal.

West Ham midfielder Pablo Fornals is proving a consistent performer and his 12 points against Liverpool are worthy of note, while Southampton forward Adam Armstrong isn’t exactly taking the Premier League by storm, but his two goals this season have him in consideration in a cheap forward role, especially with the Saints coming up against bottom club Norwich.

Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher is garnering a lot of talk, with another goal last gameweek in Crystal Palace’s 2-0 win over Wolves.

Previous week lessons

It’s hard to say Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joao Cancelo are worth their price but their past gameweek scores certainly provided a strong endorsement.

TAA netted a fine free-kick and got an assist in Liverpool’s 3-2 loss to West Ham. Cancelo got two assists in Manchester City’s derby win, plus the clean sheet.

Mohamad Salah has produced back-to-back scores of 5, so what’s the lesson? He’s due or he’s out of form? We’ll back class to rise to the top.

Finally, Emile Smith Rowe is now the real deal following scores of 8, 9 and 13 over the past three gameweeks. He’s still cheap although buyer beware, the Gunners play Liverpool away.

Who to captain?

We’ve already endorsed Cancelo’s qualities and with City hosting Everton, we fancy the Portuguese as a genuine option, although it’s always hard to look past Salah, even if he hasn’t scored in his past five games for club or country and the fact Liverpool are playing the vastly improved Arsenal.

Manchester United make the trip to Watford, who have shipped 19 goals in 11 games. You’d expect a response from United after their derby loss so Cristiano Ronaldo or Bruno Fernandes come into the frame.

Harry Kane found form for England during the international break with seven goals in two games. He had been struggling for Tottenham and they play leaky Leeds but does goal scoring form against San Marino and Albania translate in the Premier League?

Injuries

There’s all sorts of worries for Fantasy coaches, led by Chelsea who have the early Saturday game against Leicester City. Blues boss Thomas Tuchel has confirmed Romelu Lukaku will not play, while Timo Werner is an outside chance.

Mason Mount is no certainty after dental surgery, Christian Pulisic is “fine” while Thiago Silva trained on Friday after arriving back late this week from international duty in South America and will be evaluated.

There’s mystery about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s status after he was stretchered off during international duty, returning back early to London, with Arsenal giving nothing away about his availability.

Kevin De Bruyne will miss for Manchester City after testing positive to COVID-19, while Manchester United’s Paul Pogba is out for an unspecified period of time after picking up a injury on France duty.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says Andy Robertson is “pretty close” to being available after picking up a knock on Scotland duty, while Sadio Mane is “fine” after copping a rib injury playing for Senegal.
