Malmo's Lasse Nielsen brings down Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku for penalty during the Champions League group H soccer match between Chelsea and Malmo at Stamford Bridge

This gameweek starts on Friday with Arsenal’s home clash with Aston Villa, creating urgency for Fantasy coaches with Romelu Lukaku set to be ruled out and confusion around the captaincy as top scorer Mohamed Salah goes to Old Trafford.

New Options

Last week we mentioned Ben Chilwell, having come back into favour at Chelsea and he’s been aided by two goals in two games, along with another clean sheet.

Southampton striker Armando Broja drew a bit of attention with his goal in their 1-0 win over Leeds United. On loan from Chelsea, the Albanian looms as a bargain-priced forward, especially if he keeps starting for the Saints.

John McGinn has previously been a Fantasy favourite and he’s worth consideration given his low price, after a starring display with a goal and an assist.

Previous week lessons

In Mohamed Salah we trust. With Liverpool taking on Manchester United, there may be some angst about captaining him but the Egyptian is in irrepressible form. We’ll get to that dilemma shortly, but for now let’s just enjoy owning him.

Romelu Lukaku has created an issue for owners after a barren run in front of goal, although his midweek ankle injury picked up in the Champions League may have forced your hand. The streaky nature of forwards can be frustrating.

On the flipside, Son Heung-Min has put together a run of form worth flagging, with scores of 9, 10 and 7, while Harry Kane broke his duck and could be on your radar if you’re looking to flick Lukaku.

Who to captain?

Salah. Just do it.

Lukaku is set to be ruled out for Chelsea after his ankle injury, while Timo Werner also suffered a hamstring injury in the same game and will miss their home clash with Norwich, which loomed as a juicy points spinner.

Richarlison is getting closer for Everton, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin is out. Leeds have not set a return date on Patrick Bamford and Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse is out suspended.
