Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that Edinson Cavani will be even better next season.

Cavani has signed a new contract with United which will see him stay at Old Trafford next season.

The striker will reportedly earn 250,000 pounds per week as salary according to the terms of his new deal.

The 34-year-old Uruguay international striker joined United last summer on a free transfer following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season.

Cavani moved to the Red Devils on the final day of the summer transfer window and did not have a pre-season.

The striker has had fitness issues this season and is not a regular in the starting lineup, but he has scored some important goals.

Cavani has made 11 starts and 13 substitute appearances in the Premier League for United this season, scoring nine goals and providing two assists in the process.

The striker has also made three starts and one substitute appearance in the Europa League for the Red Devils this campaign, scoring five goals and providing two assists in the process.

Solskjaer told United’s official website: “Well, I think we’ve seen the last few months what we can expect and what we’ve wanted from him.

“Next season, he’ll come ready. He’ll be fit when he comes pre-season. This year, he had seven months of no football to catch up and that’s not easy - he’s had a couple of niggles because of that.”
