Real Madrid blew a golden opportunity to bolster their La Liga title credentials with Sunday’s 2-2 home draw with Sevilla but manager Zinedine Zidane insists they’re still on track.
However, Real couldn’t capitalise and were eventually lucky to claim a share of the spoils, with Eden Hazard equalising in the 90th minute.
Real (75 points) remain two points behind Atletico (77), with inferior goal difference, while Barcelona are third (75) but having lost the head-to-head with Los Blancos, with three games remaining.
“We feel good,” Zidane said. “My players showed their commitment, they wanted to win the game.
“I’m very happy with the game. We’ve got three games to go and we’re going to fight til the end.
“If we have to play tomorrow the team be ready. We play on Thursday and Sunday and we’re going to focus on these games.”
Real return to action on Thursday, and have a tricky run of fixtures to conclude the season against three top 10 sides in Granada, Athletic Bilbao and Villarreal.
Atletico’s run appears simpler, taking on fifth-placed Real Sociedad at home in midweek before matches against Osasuna and Valladolid.
The Catalans arguably have the easiest run of the three, taking on Levante, Celta Vigo and finally bottom club Eibar.
