It’s not often that Catalan sports daily Sport always reports correctly about Real Madrid for obvious reasons. And their speculation that Italian giants AC Milan are gearing for a bid for the Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy is also something that beggars belief.
Sport reports that Milan supremo Silvio Berlusconi is interested in signing the player in the summer and is ready to pay the Dutch international striker 7 million euros a year. The paper also suggests that Ruud van Nistelrooy himself is eager to make the switch from Madrid to Milan so that after conquering the Dutch, English and Spanish leagues, he would now stamp his mark in the Italian Serie A.
But there is one teensy problem. Both Real Madrid and van Nistelrroy are happy with each other and except Sport, no one is talking about the exit of former Manchester United striker from the Bernabeu.
Moreover, van Nistelrooy recently signed a lifetime contract with Real Madrid, meaning that his current deal that expires in the summer of 2010 will be automatically renewed if he plays 35 matches a season.
So is Van Nistelrooy set for a Milan move at the end of the season? No!
