The former Bayer and Chelsea midfielder rates Havertz highly, with the 21-year-old - who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger - linked with a move to the Blues in the summer transfer window.
According to The Daily Mail, Premier League outfit Chelsea are interested in signing Havertz from German club Bayer in the summer transfer window.
Talksport quotes Ballack as saying: “I firmly believe that Frank Lampard would be 100 per cent behind Kai Havertz. He likes players who are very dangerous in front of goal and there aren’t many of those.
“Havertz is a player that Frank Lampard would help further, not least because he himself was a midfielder with an eye for goal, who was always moving into dangerous areas, looking to finish off a chance.”
Havertz has been on the books of Bayer his entire professional club football career so far and is one of the best young players in Germany.
The 21-year-old made 29 starts and one substitute appearance in the Bundesliga for the German club this past season, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists in the process.
The young attacker also scored four goals and provided two assists in five Europa League matches, and played five times in the Champions League for Bayer during the 2019-20 campaign.
