Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Wolverhampton Wanderers getting knocked out of the Europa League.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Everton striker has praised Wolves on Twitter for their performance in the prestigious European club competition this season.

The Wanderers suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Sevilla in the quarter-finals of the Europa League on Tuesday evening.

Lucas Ocampos scored the only goal of the tie in the 88th minute, as Raul Jimenez failed to convert a penalty for Nuno’s side earlier in the game.

Over the course of the 90 minutes on Tuesday evening, Wolves had 25% of the possession, took six shots of which two were on target, and failed to earn a single corner.

Visitors Sevilla had 75% of the possession, took 18 shots of which five were on target, and earned 14 corners.

Wolves will not be in Europe next season after finishing seventh in the Premier League table this past season with 59 points from 38 matches.
