Juventus are almost fully fit for Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League last 16 first leg at Olympique Lyon with Sami Khedira among those returning.
Khedira has been named in the Juventus squad following knee surgery which saw him sidelined since November.
He is joined by Federico Bernardeschi, Douglas Costa and Giorgio Chiellini in the Juve squad to face Lyon, while Gonzalo Higuain (back pain) and Miralem Pjanic (muscle tightness) have been named despite clouds.
Old Lady manager Maurizio Sarri was thrilled to have several key players following injury for the crunch match.
“It is very important that Sami Khedira and Douglas Costa are back in the group,” Sarri said.
“It’s nice to know you can rely on them at this stage of the season.”
“To have Chiellini back is great news for the whole of Juve,” Bonucci said.
“He is a great symbol and a great leader. He is a great symbol and great leader from whom we all learn so much.”
Sarri added that they wouldn’t underestimate Lyon, who are currently seventh in Ligue 1.
“Lyon is a technical team with elements of acceleration and physicality,” the Italian said.
“They are dangerous team; therefore, we need to play well. We have a varied midfield in terms of the level of characteristics.”
