With five of the Group matches of this years Champions League now played, it is now becoming clearer which teams will qualify for the knock-out phases of the tournament and which will drop into the Europa League.
Paris Saint Germain have qualified from Group A as champions, whilst Real Madrid are guaranteed to finish as runners-up. Club Bruges and Galatasary will compete for the third place and the right to play in the Europa League.
Bayern Munich, the only team to have won all five matches so far, have sealed top spot in Group B, and Tottenham Hotspur have also qualified. Red Star Belgrade are likely to finish third.
Pre-tournament favourites Manchester City have clinched Group C, but there is a scramble behind them with Shaktar Donetsk, Dinamo Zagreb, and Atalanta all within a chance of qualifying. Ukrainian side Shaktar are in pole position, and will make certain of their last 16 place if they beat Atalanta at home in the final group game.
Juventus have finished in first place in Group D, and Atltico Madrid will join them in the knock-out competition provided that they beat Lokomotiv Moscow at home next month. If that happens, then it will be German side Bayer Leverkusen who will progress to the Europa League.
Group E is arguably the most intriguing of all, with three teams vying for two places. Defending champions Liverpool currently head the group, but could still miss out if they lose to Red Bull Salzburg in the final match, and Napoli, beat Belgian side Genk.
Group F is headed by Spanish Champions Barcelona, and they are guaranteed to progress as the winners. Inter Milan currently head Borussia Dortmund on goal difference, and they will go through if they beat the Catalan side in Italy. Failure to do so could open the door for the German side who host Slavia Prague in the final match.
Bundesliga side RB Leipzig have booked their place from Group G, but Zenit St. Petersburg and Lyon are fighting it out for second place. Zenit must win away at Benfica in the last match, or at least equal Lyons result in their last match against the Germans.
Group H has yet to be decided, but Ajax just need a point to qualify. Chelsea can book their place if they beat already eliminated Lille, but, if they fail to do so, might miss out if Valencia can beat the Dutch side.
