Manchester City defensive midfielder Fernandinho has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to his side’s failure to win against Liverpool on Sunday evening.
City suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the Premier League.
Fabinho put the Reds in the lead after just six minutes, and Mohamed Salah doubled the advantage for the home team in the 13th minute.
Sadio Mane made it 3-0 to Liverpool six minutes into the second half, and Bernando Silva pulled one back for Pep Guardiola’s side in the 78th minute.
Fernandinho has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the defeat for City, and while he has admitted that it was a tough game, he has said that the team now need to be strong and keep pushing.
Over the course of the 90 minutes at Anfield on Sunday evening, hosts Liverpool had 45% of the possession, took 12 shots of which five were on target, and earned four corners.
Visitors City had 55% of the possession, took 18 shots of which three were on target, and earned 13 corners.
The result means that Liverpool are now as many as nine points clear of City at the top of the Premier League table.
The Merseyside outfit will return to action on November 23 when they take on Crystal Palace away from home at Selhurst Park in London in the Premier League.
