Five-star Tottenham rebound in Champions League
Harry Kane of Tottenham celebrates scoring the first goal during the UEFA Champions League match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Tottenham have bounced back to form with a 5-0 thrashing of Red Star Belgrade in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.

Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min netted doubles while Erik Lamela was also on the scoresheet as Spurs eased past the Serbian champions at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The result ends Tottenham’s three-game winless run which included a 7-2 hammering against Bayern Munich on matchday two of the UEFA Champions League.

Spurs are now second in Group B, five points behind Bayern who won 3-2 at Olympiakos on Tuesday night.

Robert Lewandowski kept up his miraculous recent scoring form with a double for the German who came from behind to record the win.

In Group A, Real Madrid moved into second spot with a 1-0 win away to Galatasaray courtesy of Toni Kroos’s 18th minute strike.

Real now have four points from three games and sit behind Paris Saint Germain who maintained their perfect record with a 5-0 win at Club Brugge.

Kylian Mbappe netted a hat-trick in Belgium, while Mauro Icardi scored a double for the Parisians.

In Group C, Manchester City bounced back after conceding early to crush struggling Atalanta Bergamo 5-1 at Etihad Stadium.

Ruslan Malinkovskiy opened the scoring from the spot in the 28th minute after a foul from Fernandinho.

But City responded with a double before half-time from Sergio Aguero before Raheem Sterling’s second-half hat-trick sealed the win to keep up their perfect record.

Shakhtar Donetsk and Dinamo Zagreb drew 2-2 in the other match in Group C to remain level on four points.

In Group D, Paulo Dybala scored two goals in three minutes to help Juventus to a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Lokomotiv Moscow.

Atletico Madrid edged past Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 in the Spanish capital to sit level on seven points with Juve. Leverkusen are still without a point.
