Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to his side’s win against Southampton at the weekend.
Frank Lampard’s side got the better of Southampton away from home at St. Mary’s Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.
Tammy Abraham put the Blues in the lead after just 17 minutes, and Mason Mount doubled the advantage seven minutes later.
Danny Ings halved the deficit for the Saints on the half-hour mark, only for N’Golo Kante to restore Chelsea’s two-goal lead in the 40th minute.
Batshuayi wrapped up the scoring for the London club in the 89th minute with his side’s fourth goal of the match, and the 26-year-old striker has taken to Twitter to revel in the success.
Over the course of the 90 minutes at St. Mary’s Stadium on Sunday, hosts Southampton had 43% of the possession, took 10 shots of which three were on target, and earned three corners.
Visitors Chelsea had 57% of the possession, took 13 shots of which seven were on target, and earned four corners.
Chelsea are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 14 points from eight matches, level on points with fourth-placed Leicester City.
The Blues will return to action on October 19 when they take on Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge in London in the Premier League.
