Kevin Campbell has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Arsenal manager Unai Emery’s comments about Mesut Ozil.
Ozil was not in the Gunners’ squad for their Europa League Group F game against Liege at the Emirates Stadium in North London on Thursday evening.
Arsenal manager Emery has said that others deserved the chance to be in the squad ahead of the 30-year-old attacking midfielder.
Former Arsenal manager Campbell has given his take on Emery’s stance on Ozil on Twitter, and he does not seem to be too fussed about the German not playing at the moment.
Great to hear this from UE. No more privilege it’s about hard work https://t.co/VDD9ZeRIjN— Kevin Campbell (@1kevincampbell) October 3, 2019
Ozil has struggled for playing time for Arsenal this season, and has played just 71 minutes in the Premier League.
During the 2018-19 campaign, the former Real Madrid star made 20 starts and four substitute appearances in the league for the Gunners, scoring five goals and providing two assists in the process.
The 30-year-old also made eight starts and two substitute appearances in the Europa League for Arsenal last season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process.
Arsenal are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season and are doing quite well at the moment.
The Gunners are currently fourth in the league table with 12 points from seven matches.
Arsenal will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium in North London in the Premier League.
