Oscar Piastri is a racing driver for McLaren in Formula One. He debuted in F1 in the 2023 season and claimed two podiums in his rookie season.
Career
He won the 2020 and 2021 Autosport Rookie of the Year awards, having won the 2020 Formula 3 Championship and the 2021 Formula 2 Championship.
He was involved in controversy when Alpine announced in August 2022 he would be elevated to a driver’s seat in 2023, which he denied on social media, before later signing with McLaren.

He earned his first points in his third Grand Prix, finishing eighth at his home race, the Australian Grand Prix in April 2023. Piastri enjoyed a stronger second half of the year with McLaren, including podiums in Japan and Qatar, with a season-best second-place at the latter race. He finished ninth overall in his rookie F1 season.
