The first Czech to participate in a Formula race, Tomas Enge has a long list of achievements. It began with the 4 race wins in the Formula Ford German championship, in 1996. Enge’s next victory was in the 2001 FIA F3000 International championship, when he was racing with the Coca-Cola Nordic Racing team. The 3rd place was a result of 2 race wins, 3 poles and one fastest lap in race. Next year Enge gave a repeat performance, clinching third place once again, but this time with Arden International Team, and with three race wins, four poles and 5 fastest lap in a race honors.
In 2003 Enge won the Petit Le Mans – GTS, racing for Team Prodrive, and from the year 2001 till 2004 he accumulated five starts in the 24 Hours Le Mans, and five poles as well. Enge claimed the title in the 2003 24 Hours Le Mans, racing for team Veloqx Prodrive Racing, in a Ferraro 550 Maranello.
Enge made his A1 GP debut in the 2005-06 season and soon earned his first victory in China. In 2006 he also finished in 2nd place, overall in the ALMS, racing for Aston Martin Racing team. Apart from all these achievements Enge is also the first Czech to participate in the FIA Formula One World championship, in 2001, where he participated in three races with the Prost Acer team. Further, Enge is the first Czech racing driver to participate in the IndyCar Series, wherein he raced with Patrick Racing team in 2004 and the next year switched to Panther racing team, with whom he clinched two fastest lap honors.
