During his 11 year long career, Glen Wood notched up 34 top-10 finishes, in only 62 starts. In the year 1960, Wood clinched three of his four wins, and a further four pole positions, in just nine races. He proved his mettle as NASCAR driver and later joined forces with his brother Leonard, to form the Wood Brothers team, which would become a powerful teams in the history of NASCAR Cup Series.
The Wood Brothers team had a total of 97 wins, and in 1995 they were inducted into Lowe’s Motor Speedway’s Court of Legends. The team is now managed by Wood’s children, two sons and a daughter.
