Aston Martin wanted the four-time champion, Sebastian Vettel, to stay with them and race in Formula One for the next season.
The Canadian billionaire owner of Aston Martin is clear and firm with his intention to let the world champion in their company not only next season but also on the next year and beyond. Recently, Aston Martin has been building their new Formula One factory.
Vettel stayed with Red Bull for more than 3 years that made him win titles, then he joined Ferrari at the end of last year. With 14 races, Vettel is placed on the 12th spot, while Stroll’s son was a place behind.
It is noted that Vettel had signed for Aston Martin last year for the 2021 season and “beyond”, imposing a clear signal to fans and the racing world that he will be taking the Aston Martin name in his future endeavors.
The former champion was disqualified in Hungary after his car’s fuel remained insufficient after his race. During the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, he was in second place.
Vettel is also seen being an active advocate on environmental issues. While his opinion on climate change is strong, Stroll assured that his company has no bearing with him on their desire to let him stay and drive with them in Formula One.
Other than Aston Martin, Vettel has some other options, too. All the major teams have confirmed their prospected racers for the next season, while Aston Martin is just waiting patiently for Vettel’s decision.
Currently, FIA requested Aston Martin’s 2021 to reduce their downforce.
