Pedro Munhoz, nicknamed “The Young Punisher”, is a professional mixed martial arts fighter from Brazil. In December 2022, he was ranked by the Ultimate Fighting Championships as their number 9 Bantamweight Fighter.
Pedro Munhoz was born on September 7, 1986, in São Paulo in Brazil. He is currently fighting out of California in the United States. At just six years old Munhoz started training in Shotokan Karate. He currently has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Munhoz stands 168 cm tall and he has a reach of 165 cm long. His weight was last listed at 61 kg, which allows him to play in the bantamweight division. He is a part of Kings MMA and the American Top Team.
Munhoz turned pro in March 2009. He started his professional career with Full Fight. And his first fight was against Reginaldo Viera. By January 2014, he had acquired a winning streak of 10 fights. Some of the fighters he defeated at this time include Mauro Brenes, Pablo Alfonso, Bill Kamery, and Jeff Curan.
His first professional loss was also his first fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. It was against Raphael Assuncao and held in February 2014. He followed this up with a win against Matt Hobar. Munhoz’s October 2014 fight with Jerrod Sanders ended in a No Contest.
His next fight was held in November 2015 and was a loss to Jimmie Rivera. From November 2015 to October 2017, he won four times against Russell Doane, Justin Scoggins, Damian Stasiak, and Rob Font.
Munhoz continued to fight for the UFC in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. His most recent fight in the UFC was a no-contest against Sean O’Malley. It was held on July 2, 2022.
