Career

Since he turned pro in 2010, Ortega has had 18 fights, winning 15. His first professional fight was held in April 2010. It was for the Gladiator Challenge and was against John Sassone. He later won against Brady Harrison and Vincent Martinez. His first fight in 2011 was against Chris Mercado. In the same year, he fought Carlos Garces.

He did not have any professional fights in 2012 and did not return to RITC until 2013. He had three fights then, against Thomas Guimond and Jordan Rinaldi. He also had two fights in 2014, one against Keoni Koch and the other against Mike de la Torre. The Torre fight was a no-contest. The de la Torre fight was supposed to be his UFC debut.

His first UFC win was against Thiago Taveres. It was held in 2015. From 2015 to 2017, he had an undefeated record in the UFC. In 2018, he had his first loss. It was in December 2018 against Max Holloway.
