Vadim Nemkov is a professional mixed martial artist from Russia. He is affiliated with Bellator MMA and also formerly fought in the Rizin Fighting Federation, and Fight Nights Global. Competing in the light heavyweight and heavyweight division, Nemkov is the younger brother of Viktor Nemkov, who is a Russian Sambo athlete.

Vadim is trained by Fedor Emelianenko and he is a part of FedorTeam. As of October 2021, Nemkov currently holds the Bellator Light Heavyweight World Championship Title. He has made two successful defenses, so far.

Athlete Bio and Personal Life

Nemkov was born on June 20, 1992 in Belgorod, Oblast, Russia. He stands 6 feet or 183 cm tall and his listed weight is 205 lb or 93 kilograms. Nemkov has a reach of 193 cm or 76 inches, which is 10 cm taller than his height. His fighting style is heavily influenced by Sambo and he holds an International Master of Sport ranking in Combat Sambo.

In addition to being a professional MMA player, Nemkov also served in the 16th Special Purpose Brigade of Spetsnaz. This was in 2010.

Rizin and Fight Nights Global

Prior to joining Rizin, Nemkov accumulated a record of 5-0. In 2015, signed him on and his first fight for the Federation was in August 2015 where he went up against Joaquim Ferreira. He won the bout with a knockout. His next fight also ended in a win. This was against Goran Relijic.

A few days after the Relijic fight, Nemkov fought against Jiri Prochazka. He lost to Jiri. His next fight was with Karl Albrektsson. That ended in a loss too.

Following the two losses, he competed in Fight Nights Global and went up against Mikolaj Rozanski. He won. Going back to Rizin, he fought his last fight for the Federation against Alison Vicente. That ended in a win.


In 2016, he signed with Bellator and he made his debut in August 2017 when he went up against Philipe Lins.

He has since had 6 more fights for Bellator, all of them ending in wins. Some of the fighters he has gone up against include Phil Davis, Ryan Bader, Liam McGeary, and Julius Anglickas.
