Francis Carmont is a French mixed martial artist who began his professional career in 2004. He competes in the light heavyweight division of the Bellator MMA. He has also fought for UFC, KSW, and BodogFIGHT. His fighting style is a combination of wrestling, BJJ, kickboxing, and boxing.
Carmont first fought professionally in the year 2004. Before he signed on with UFC, his record was at 16 wins and 7 losses. His UFC debut was in UFC 137 where he fought against Chris Camozzi. He won the fight due to a unanimous decision. He’d have back to back wins after his UFC debut, defeating the likes of Magnus Cedenblad, Karlos Vemola, Tom Lawlor, Lorenz Larkin, and Costas Philippou. After three consecutive losses in the UFC, Carmont was released from the promotion. During his stint with the UFC, Carmont’s most controversial fight was against Lorenz Larkin where he won by unanimous deicision but many MMA media outlets scored the bout against Carmont.
All hope was not yet lost for the young talent. Carmont signed onto Bellator MMA in December 2014. He won his debut fight against Guilherme Viana at Bellator 135. His most current fight was during the Bellator 158 in July 2016. He was fighting opposite Lukasz Klinger where he won by submission.
Now, Francis Carmont’s record stands at 25 wins and 11 losses. He stands 6’ 3” tall and weighs 205 lbs. He is currently associated with Tristar Gym and fights out of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is active in the MMA professional circuit to this day.
