Jorge Masvidal aka “Gamebred” is an American professional mixed martial artist born in Miami, Florida United States on November 12, 1981. He competed at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) men’s lightweight division. He has also as also competed for Bellator, World Victory Road, Shark Fights, and Strikeforce.

Born to a Cuban father and Peruvian mother, he was often involved in street fighting even at a young age. Studying at St. Brendan High school, he competed in wrestling so that he could stay eligible because of his grades, after which and then began training in mixed martial arts.

Starting his career in 2003, he managed to go win against Brandon Bledsoe at the HOOKnSHOOT – Absolute Fighting Championships 3. He also remained undefeated at the AFC from 2003 to 2004 and won against athletes like Brian Geraghty, Roli Delgado, Julian Ortega and Justin Wisniewski. His first professional defeat on the other hand was at the FT 1 via unanimous decision against Raphael Assuncao.

He also showed superb power and great athleticism at the Strikeforce and the Bellator Fighting and won against Steve Berger, Brant Rose, Nick Agallar and Eric Reynolds.

His first appearance at the UFC octagon was at the UFC on Fox 7 and won against Michael Chiesa in 2013. He later on faced Rustam Khabilov in the year at the UFC Fight Night 31 and was defeated via unanimous decision. His latest appearance was at the UFC 201 – Lawler vs. Woodley and won against Ross Pearson. He has a record of 41 fights with 30 wins and 11 losses.
