Jessica Aguilar is a Mexican-born American mixed martial artist that is currently fighting in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. She was the reigning WSOF Women’s Strawweight Champion during her departure from the World Series of Fighting league. Aguilar also competed in the Bellator Fighting Championships and even managed to advance to the semi-finals of the 2010 Bellator 115 lbs. women’s tournament.
She is born on May 8, 1982 in Poza Rica, Veracruz in Mexico. Nicknamed “Jag”, she has numerous accomplishments such as being hailed the 2010 Female Fan Favorite of the Year, 2011 Female Flyweight of the Year, and the 2012 Florida MMA Female Fighter of the Year.

Her debut fight in professional mixed martial arts was back in 2006 where she lost against Lisa Ellis via a rear naked choke during the second round of the fight. She managed to get back on her second fight and won against Lindsay Ketchum via a TKO, now at the CFC 1 – Combat Fighting Championship 1. She won three consecutive fights after that until she was defeated by Carina Damm at the Bodog Fight in Vancouver in 2007.
She later on faced Angela Magana in 2007 and won at the WFC 6 via technical submission due to the blooding in Magana’s eyes. Magana managed to get her revenge in 2008 after winning against Aguilar in the HooknShoot – Gfight 2009 Grand Prix via decision.
She was undefeated from 2010 to 2014 in the BFC, Bellator, and the WSOF. However, her debut fight in the UFC 190 was a defeat against Claudia Gadelha in August 2015 via unanimous decision.
Aguilar has managed to win 11 of her last 13 fights and has six first round finishes. She has a professional record of 26 fights with 20 wins and 6 losses, with seven wins via submission and 3 by knockout.
