Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov is a Russian mixed martial artist with an Avar descent. He was born on September 20, 1988 and won the Combat SamboWorld Championship several times before entering the UFC. He also has a black belt in Judo and is currently fighting at the lightweight category of the UFC.
Nurmagedov currently holds that longest undefeated streak with 22 straight wins in total in the professional MMA sport. He was initially the top most ranked contender in the UFC lightweight division. However, due to an injury, he now stands on the third spot of the said weight division.
His earlier trainings were with his father who is a master of boxing and judo. His father also happens to be a Sambo Ukrainian National Champion and a National Mater of Sports in Freestyle Wrestling.
His first fight in professional MMA happened back in September 2008 and quickly won 4 times in a row in just one month, three of them on the same night. He has never lost a fight since he started fighting professionally in the CSFU.
His debut fight in the UFC was against Kamal Shalorus in 2012 where he wonvia a rear-naked choke leading to a submission. He also won a massive fight against Thiago Tavares in 2013 through his massive punches and elbows at the UFC on FX 7.
