My name is Billy George and due to an accidental shooting that occurred in January of 2005 I became a quadriplegic who is paralyzed from the shoulders down. Along with my disability came a totally new and improved perspective toward life, the attitude of a winner, a passion for writing, and a desire to make a difference in this world. Upon overcoming depression and times of distress, I’ve found a joy in public speaking, and I thrive on helping families cope with their trials and tribulations at the Ohio State University Hospital,. One of the most important things that I’ve discovered in the past 8 and 1/2 years is that there are certain things that you have to accept as they are in order to move forward with your life. So never forget the power you have to make a difference in this world. Accept where you are, remember where you’ve been, but most importantly, know where you want to be. Life may push you down, but you have the choice to get back up. Just remember if you can still breathe you can still get back up and fight.
