Shawn Belle is a Canadian defenseman in the Edmonton Oilers’ organization.

Belle was drafted with the last pick of the 1st round in 2003 by the St. Louis Blues, after he scored 21 points and 77 penalty minutes in the WHL. He spent two more years in the league before joining the Iowa Stars in the AHL in 2005. He spent three seasons with the Stars and Houston Aeros before making his NHL debut with the Minnesota Wild in 2007. He played just 9 games with the Wild before being sent back to the AHL for three more seasons. He was called up for 2 games with the Montreal Canadiens, and signed a one year deal with Edmonton in 2010. He’ll compete for a roster spot at the 2010 training camp.

Belle won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2005 World Juniors and a silver medal in 2004.
