Cory Schneider is an American goalie on the Vancouver Canucks.
He was drafted by the Canucks in the first round of the 2004 draft after posting a 1.42 GAA in his senior year of high school. He then played three years of college hockey at Boston College before joining the Manitoba Moose in the AHL. He has played well for the Moose over the last three seasons, helping them reach the Calder Cup Finals in 2009. He would most likely have gotten more than the 10 games he’s played with the Canucks if Roberto Luongo wasn’t the starting goalie, and will be for the foreseeable future. It’s likely that Schneider will have to be moved at some point in the near future, because he’s too good to waste on the bench, and could be turned into some valuable assets for the team.
Schneider played for Team USA at the 2005 and 2006 World Juniors.
